Immunosuppressive Therapy in Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract

The majority of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, including those with mild renal disease, respond to corticosteroid therapy. The addition of immunosuppressive drugs appears to be unwarranted because of their minimal efficacy and because of the possibility of inducing tumors.
