Effect of Different Methods of Coagulation of Culture Media on Tubercle Bacilli Growth

Abstract
The reported inhibition of growth of tubercle bacilli by free fatty acids led to a study of the correlation between time and temp. of heating, presence of ether extract-able free fatty acid and extent of growth on Lowenstein-Jensen and Petragnani media. Media inspissated at 85[degree]C contained less free fatty acid and gave better growth than those autoclaved at 100[degree]C. At the latter temp. the time of heating was of no significance.
