Pulmonary Artery Stenosis

Abstract
Two cases of stenosis of a peripheral pulmonary artery occurring in a 10-year-old and 19-month-old individual are reported. Both cases were studied by means of catheterization and selective angio-cardiography. The latter procedure was performed utilizing an Elema bi-plane angiocardiographic apparatus, films (6/second) being taken in both an antero-posterior and lateral projection for a period of 4 seconds. The first case had a high interventricular septal defect and a stenosis of a superior branch of the right pulmonary artery with post-stenotic dilatation. The second case had a valvular pulmonic stenosis and a stenosis at the bifurcation of the main pulmonary artery. A mild pulmonary hypertension, 36/8 mm Hg, was present proximal to the stenotic area.
