Abstract
Standard perturbation techniques are applied to the study of the energy level splitting in the nucleon isobar states which results from introducing charge-symmetry violation. Whereas the scalar interaction model shows a high sensitivity to the symmetry breaking, the corresponding asymmetries are typically suppressed in the model with pseudoscalar mesons, owing to the interdependence of spin and isopin in the strong-coupling theory.
