Abstract
Diethylstilbestrol has the property of exerting a diabetogenic effect in partially depancreatized rats. It was the object of this study to evaluate further the specificity of diabetogenic activity by testing other substances which might conceivably effect carbohydrate metabolism. Progesterone, calciferol, post. pituitary extracts, phenol, a urine extract, and the massive inj. of water were teste for dia-betogenic activity in partially depancreatized rats which consistently responded to diethylstilbestrol. The results were negative.
