Following the inj. of the hormone in hypogonadal men, there was an increase in excretion of urinary androgens proportionate to the size of the dose. In cases of hypogonadism, inj. of 5 to 10 mg. of testosterone propionate was followed by an increase in urinary androgens for not more than 24 hrs. With larger doses the increased excretion period was lengthened. In normal men, inj. of the hormone was followed by a prompt rise in excreted androgens, then for several days a fall, and then a rise to normal levels.
