Abstract
Fluids [36] from non-keratinizing [human] jaw cysts were examined together with autologous sera by immunoelectrophoresis and double diffusion in agar or agarose gels. Except for 1 cyst fluid which contained electrophoretically homogeneous (monoclonal) Ig[immunoglobulin]G of the .vkappa. type together with free .vkappa. chains, IgG of cyst fluid was electrophoretically heterogeneous. IgA of cyst fluid usually migrated more slowly than IgA of serum, and the IgM migrated similarly. The 3 Ig showed reactions of antigenic identify with the human IgG, IgA and IgM. Fluid from a median palatine cyst contained secretory component, which showed a reaction of identity with free secretory component isolated from human saliva, and probably also IgA of the secretory type. Two cyst fluids also precipitated a component in rabbit serum.
