Amyloidosis and Hypertension in Cholesterol-Fed Rabbits.

Abstract
Of 18 rabbits fed cholesterol for 12 to 104 weeks, 7 developed amyloidosis or paramyloidosis. These rabbits had hyperglobulinemia and their urinary protein contained a high percentage of globulins. Hypertension developed in 4 of 5 rabbits with amyloidosis and in 1 of 7 without such deposits.
