Subcutaneous Angiolymphoid Hyperplasia With Eosinophilia: Report of a Case Masquerading as a Salivary Tumor

Abstract
• Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia is a benign, nodular, dermal and subcutaneous lesion consisting of proliferated capillary channels in association with a polymorphous leukocytic infiltrate, usually rich in eosinophils. It usually occurs on the scalp and face. The present report describes a case masquerading as a salivary tumor. Recent studies suggest that the lesion is the result of a proliferation of a histiocytoid endothelial cell, possibly resulting from an inflammatory or injurious stimulus.
