Magnetic interactions in Dy2Fe17as studied by means of161Dy and57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy

Abstract
The magnetic properties of the compound Dy2Fe17 were studied by means of 161Dy and 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. The data were analysed in terms of the mean-field model. It is shown that the interaction between the Fe moments (4.2*10-22J) is about three times stronger than the interaction between rare-earth and iron moments (-1.2*10-22J).
