Loss of Proprioceptive Reflexes Following Retrograde Degeneration

Abstract

Studies of the segmental spinal reflexes in cats by means of the cathode-ray oscillograph showed that section of the peripheral nerves led to a loss of the ventral root potentials homologous with the proprioceptive reflex during the period of chromatolysis. The corresponding potentials of the flexor reflex were essentially unchanged.
