Abstract
A symmetric quark-model analysis of the two-quantum excited nucleonic states is carried out. By assigning the and to the states in the and the , , , and to the states in the (56, ) supermultiplets, it is found that the and the fit exceedingly well to the states in the (70, ), and the calculated mass value for the nucleonic state in the (70, ) is comparable to that of the observed .
