SU(6) Assignment for the Positive-Parity Nucleonic Resonances

Abstract
A symmetric quark-model analysis of the two-quantum excited nucleonic states is carried out. By assigning the N(1470) P11 and Δ(1690) P33 to the states in the (56, 0+)N=2 and the N(1860) P13, N(1688) F15, Δ(1890) F35, and Δ(1950) F37 to the states in the (56, 2+) supermultiplets, it is found that the N(1780) P11 and the Δ(1910) P31 fit exceedingly well to the states in the (70, 0+), and the calculated mass value for the JP=72+ nucleonic state in the (70, 2+) is comparable to that of the observed N(1990) F17.
