Abstract
Observations were made on the blood of 25 young, active, [male] dogs, ranging in weight from 6.9 to 25.2 kgm.; average weight 14.53 kgm. The average erythrocyte count was 7,002,000 cells per cu. mm. The percentage of hemoglobin by the method of Sahli was 92.8. Hematocrit values were 45.21% of cells and 54.79% of plasma. Averages of cell volume, plasma volume, and blood volume were 735 cc, 888 cc. and 1623 cc. respectively. The ratio of weight of blood to body weight for all dogs was 11.91%.
