Abstract
Improved viability, quality, oxygen delivery capacity and metabolic activity of packed cells was obtained when blood was collected into (CP2D) citrate-phosphate anticoagulant with extra dextrose and, after separation of plasma, stored in an adenine-enhanced electrolyte solution. The system has been incorporated into clinical transfusion practice. Keywords
