Abstract
An acute deficiency of pantothenic acid was produced in female rats fed a pantothenic acid-deficient diet and injected with solns. of crystalline anterior pituitary growth hormone. The deficiency developed more rapidly and was more severe when the deficient diet was high in fat. Pantothenic acid is apparently necessary for protein synthesis. Keywords
