Pyroelectric substitution method for calibrating optical fibre components attenuation

Abstract
In this letter, we present a pyroelectric AC substitution method, in which a ratio transformer is used as a standard attenuator. Using a PVF2 pyroelectric detector, experiments are made for calibrating an optical fibre attenuator. The results show the usefulness of this method.
