Abstract
A holy grail of cancer therapy has been to design peptidomimetics-small peptides containing nonnatural amino acids-that bind to target proteins and induce cancer cells to undergo apoptosis. In their Perspective, [Denicourt and Dowdy][1] discuss two new innovative strategies ([ Li et al .][2], [ Walensky et al .][3]) for designing peptidomimetics that target protein-protein interactions in the extrinsic and intrinsic pathways of apoptotic cell death.
