Abstract
A simple eikonal model, approximately consistent with geometric scaling, is developed and extended to predict the multiplicity distributions for high-energy inelastic reactions. It is found that the most naive form of the model does not fit the data, but that a simple modification, involving a subdivision of the available energy among the cut Pomerons in the multi-Pomeron exchange terms, does provide a reasonable fit to the data on multiplicity at 50, 69, 102, 205, 303, and 405 GeV/c.
