Abstract
This paper reports on a unified approach to computing the distribution factors and system performance indices in linear contingency analysis. The algorithm is based on the theory of matrix inversion lemma, and is capable of handling all contingency types including generation, load, multiple branches, bus splits, and their combinations. The derivation of the formulae stresses speed and efficiency, which are factors crucial for an on-line application. Keywords
