DIAGNOSIS BY REAL TIME ULTRASOUND OF HOURGLASS HERNIATION OF THE FETAL MEMBRANES

Abstract
Two patients in whom hourglass herniation of the fetal membranes through the cervix occurred at 26 wk gestation are presented. The diagnosis was made by real time ultrasound and led to conservative management with isoxsuprine hydrochloride dexamethasone and the foot of the hospital bed raised. One infant survived and probably would not have without conservative management.
