Abstract
The absorption band at 774 cm−1 in F2CO, which has the appearance of a parallel‐type band for a symmetric top, has been resolved into its rotational fine structure with a grating. An analysis of the band has been performed and reveals the band center to be 774.40 cm−1 and the average B″ for the two close moments of inertia to be 0.3925 cm−1. The moments of inertia in the upper and lower states are very nearly identical and the coefficient of the (v6+½)2 term in the energy is estimated to be 1.4 cm−1.Keywords
