Abstract
Instabilities in a single-mode, Fabry-Perot, predominantly inhomogeneously broadened xenon laser show progressions through increasingly complicated periodic behavior, ultimately reaching a deterministic chaotic behavior. Period doubling, two-frequency, and intermittency routes to chaos have been observed. Keywords
