The Ciliation of the Oviducts of Reptiles

Abstract

In the oviducts of the lizards Phrynosoma and Sceloporus there is, in the upper albumen-secreting part, a tract of cilia which beat toward the infundibulum. This appears to be comparable to that described in the turtle and in the pigeon. Its function is probably to convey sperms up the oviduct.
