Abstract
It is postulated that a disturbance in collagen or connective tissue metabolism is involved in odoratism, the exptl. lathyrism produced in rats receiving diets containing the sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus). High levels of gelatin and of untreated casein delayed, but did not prevent, the onset of odoratism. Casein exerted a greater protective action than gelatin. Keywords
