Abstract
A 65 yr old man with pituitary adenoma, partial hypopituitarism and normal serum FSH [follicle stimulating hormone] and LH [luteinizing hormone] concentration is described. LH (but not FSH) partially increased following the administration of LH-RH [luteinizing hormone releasing hormone]. Subsequent FSH and LH assays of the CSF showed high and correctly predicted suprasellar extension of the tumor.
