Ten new substrates were used in addition to those tested previously. Of these, one (casein) gave negative reactions; 8 others gave reactions typical of the distribution of nonspecific alkaline phosphatase. With the use of the 10th substrate, 5-nucleotide, different patterns of distribution were obtained. This finding is considered an evidence for the specificity of 5-nucleotidase.
