Abstract
Cats were stimulated with a Galton whistle for 15 hrs. daily for 15 to 45 days with frequencies from 980 to 3350 cycles per sec. at estimated intensities between 80 and 90 decibels above the human threshold. The animals were tested by recording the electrical responses of the auditory nerve, results showing no significant variations from those obtained with control animals. Inferences for auditory theory that have been drawn from histological studies are questioned. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
