Abstract
The purpose of this investigation is to explore the network of relational closeness for individuals over the age of 65 as it relates to life satisfaction. One hundred twenty elderly individuals living in three separate living environments completed the Adult Communication Survey. Results indicate a relationship between the network of closeness of communication and reported life satisfaction. These findings are complex, mitigated by living environment and the partner of the interaction. Implications of these findings for the communication researcher and practitioner are discussed. Keywords
