Bei vergleichenden Leukozytenzählungen an 241 Probanden, darunter 49 gesunden Kontrollpersonen und 131 hämatologischen Patienten mit Leukopenien, wurden im ersten Ohrläppchenbluttropfen um 21,6–48,3%, im fünften Ohrläppchenbluttropfen um 13,4–22,7%, im ersten Fingerbeerenbluttropfen um 2,2–8,9% und im fünften Fingerbeerenbluttropfen um 0,8–1,9% höhere Mittelwerte als im Venenblut gefunden. Nur in einzelnen Untergruppen, zum Beispiel bei Thrombozytopenien (< 10000/mm3), waren im ersten und fünften Fingerbeerenbluttropfen um 1,9–8,5% niedrigere Mittelwerte nachweisbar. Bei Leukopenien wurden diagnostisch und therapeutisch wichtige Differenzen von 1000–2000 Zellen zwischen dem fünften Ohrläppchenbluttropfen und dem Venenblut in 16%, von 2000–4000 Zellen in 4% der Fälle beobachtet. Beim fünften Fingerbeerenbluttropfen traten die genannten Zellabweichungen in 3,5 bzw. 1,5% der Fälle auf. Comparative electronic leucocyte counting was performed in 241 persons including 49 healthy subjects and 131 haematologic patients with leucopenia. Capillary blood taken from the ear lobe gave the following results: 1st drop 21.6–48.3%, 5th drop 13.4 to 22.7% higher mean values than from venous blood, from the finger tip: 1st drop 2.2–8.9% and 5th drop 0.8–1.9% higher mean values. Only in some sub-groups, e. g. thrombocytopenias with less than 10,000 cells/mm3, the 1st and 5th blood drop from the finger tip gave results 1.9–8.5% lower than those of venous blood. In 16% of patients with leucopenia differences of 1000–2000 cells were seen between the 5th drop of ear lobe blood and venous blood whereas in 4% differences of as much as 2000–4000 cells were seen. In the 5th drop of finger blood the above differences in white cell count were observed in 3.5 and 1.5% respectively of the cases.
