Precise Energies ofCa40Levels

Abstract
Energies of excited levels of Ca40 have been measured with high precision using a Ge(Li) detector to observe γ-ray transitions. The present work, which resolves some discrepancies in the literature, yields Ex=3737.1±0.3 keV for the lowest 3 level and Ex=7658.9±0.5 keV for the Ca40 T=1 analog of the Sc40 ground state. Energies of a number of other levels of Ca40 are also given.
