Male haploidy in rotifers: Relative DNA content of nuclei from male and female asplanchna

Abstract
In A. sieboldi mitotic nuclei of males had one‐half the nuclear DNA content of those of females. Spermatocytes from testes had lc DNA contents. These observations indicate that the male is haploid and that spermatogenesis is atypical and involves no reductional divisions.
