BUPIVACAINE 0.125% IN EPIDURAL BLOCK ANALGESIA DURING CHILDBIRTH: CLINICAL EVALUATION

Abstract
The use of bupivacaine 0.125% with adrenaline 1: 400, 000 has been evaluated in 500 patients during the first and second stage of labour. Delivery was painless in 93% of the patients studied. No major disadvantages to the mother were noted in this series. The method was considered safe for the baby as no adverse effects were detected either at birth or during the neonatal period.
