Solvent Systems and Applications of the Liquid Chromatograph Electron Capture Detector

Abstract
Polar solvent systems suitable for use with the liquid chromatograph electron capture detector (LC/ECD) are reported. The presence of atmospheric oxygen dissolved in the solvent was shown to give rise to increased noise and backing-off levels of the constant current detector amplifier and a simple method for removal of oxygen was described. A number of applications of this detector are reported.
