Abstract
The recognition type of memory tests shows low correlations with other types of memory tests and low correlation with tests of the Alpha type, which leads the author to conclude that "there is little relationship between pure retentivity and intelligence." On the other hand she finds the correlations high between logical memory tests (such as those used in the Binet scale) and intelligence. The tests were given in groups and the results analyzed by the Spearman tetrad difference technique. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
