Calcium Halophosphate Phosphors

Abstract
The energy distribution of the emission spectra of a number of calcium halophosphate phosphors has been determined on a recording spectroradiometer. These emission curves have been broken down into component bands, each of which has a Gaussian distribution of energy against wave number. An attempt is made to assign the emission bands to specific energy levels of the excited ions and to interpret their changes in terms of crystal structure and location of the activator atoms.
