Angular Distribution of Protons from Vanadium 52

Abstract

Angular distributions have been obtained for the protons from the ground and first excited states for the reaction ${\mathrm{V}}^{51}(d, p){\mathrm{V}}^{52}$. The results indicate that the captured neutron carries in mainly one unit of orbital angular momentum for both states. The 29th neutron is thus presumed to be a $p_{\frac{3}{2}}$ nucleon.
