Correlation of the Optical and Electron-Spin-Resonance Absorptions of theHCenter in KCl

Abstract
It has been shown that the optical H band and the ESR H spectrum arise from the same center, the H center, in KCl. Similar to the Cl2 (or VK) center, the H center has two optical transitions: A strong and highly σ-polarized transition giving rise to an absorption band at 336 nm, and a much weaker transition, which is very weakly σ-polarized, giving rise to an absorption band at 522 nm. The disorientation temperature of the H center has been found to be (10.9±0.3)°K.
