Abstract
It is shown by example that the attribute of high resolution for a spectrum estimator can be a subjective one. The particular spectrum estimator considered is the MUSIC algorithm, although the observations are valid for any spectrum estimator. The main point is that visual examination of spectra is not a scientifically valid means of assessing resolution. Keywords
