Treatment of Diabetic Necrobiosis with Aspirin and Dipyridamole

Abstract
To the Editor: The recent article by Halushka et al.1 on the behavior of platelets in diabetic patients and the accompanying editorial2 are reinforced by the following case, in which a protracted course of necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum responded well to the administration of anti-aggregating drugs.A 34-year-old woman known to have had juvenile diabetes mellitus since three years of age was hospitalized because of severe skin lesions and ulcerations in the pretibial areas of both legs. The course of the diabetes was brittle, with many episodes of hypoglycemia and ketoacidosis. The patient received insulin, at a dosage of 30 units . . .
