Congenital discoid lupus in the newborn.

Abstract
A female infant, born to a 21 yr old mother with systemic lupus erythematosus, had cutaneous discoid lupus at birth. The lesions resolved spontaneously over the first few months and by the age of 1 yr the infant''s skin was normal. Other possible complications of this maternal disease are discussed and the need for caution in counseling mothers is recommended.
