Abstract
A case is reported of a mild transfusion reaction in a post-partum patient, group A, who gave a past history of numerous pregnancies and 4 miscarriages. The incompatibility could be attributed to an atypical antibody which hemolyzed weakly but distinctly 25% of all bloods of groups O and A. The properties of the atypical hemolysin are discussed. Since the patient was not transfused previously it is assumed that this case represents an instance of isoimmunization of the mother by blood properties of the fetus inherited from the father (Levine and Stetson; Levine, Katzin, and Burnham). Keywords
