Abstract
The new phase Ba3xLi(2x+ 4y)Ti(8 – 2x–y)O16 was synthesized by solid-state reaction at 1100–1200 °C. It is a solid-solution phase with an approximate stoichiometry range 0.32 < x < 0.42 and 0 < y < 0.20. Single-crystal analysis showed the tetragonal structure to be essentially identical to that of the mineral priderite, an (Mg/Ba)(Ti/Fe) oxide, which is a member of the hollandite family. Conductivity data are reported; this phase appears to be a modest Li+ ion conductor. Keywords
