In Vitro Cellular Uptake of Benzo [a] pyrene Measured by a Microfluorometric Technique

Abstract
This report states that using a new microfluorometric technique we can: (i) quantitate the amount of BP taken up by cultured mammalian cells, (ii) follow the time course of uptake of BP into these cells, (iii) correlate the amount of BP uptake with BP-induced cytotoxicity, (iv) observe BP extrusion by cells at low concentrations of BP, and (v) correlate this BP extrusion with reduced BP toxicity in these cells.
