Abstract
The coherence and correlation parameters associated with the excitation of the n3P (n=2-8) states of helium have been calculated using first-order many-body theory (FOMBT) for the incident electron energy range 25-500 eV. The theoretical results for (Lperpendicular to ) and gamma agree well with the limited experimental data for 33P and these parameters are essentially independent of the principal quantum number for fixed incident electron energy.
