Abstract
A transmission electron microscopy study has been made of defects in yttriumaluminumgarnet (YAG). Three kinds of planar defect were observed: antiphase boundaries generated by slip on {110} planes, antiphase domain boundaries separating regions of crystal which appear to have slightly different lattice parameter, and orientation twins.Keywords
