The relationship of switching distribution to tape digital output

Abstract
There are two different definitions of magnetic switching distribution in common use for magnetic recording media. These two parameters are closely related, and this relationship has been determined for a family of experimental recording tapes. In addition, the importance of magnetic switching distribution to peak output at 787 bits/mm is shown for tapes encompassing a wide range of coercive force (Hc) and retentivity (4πMr).
