Abstract
There are two different definitions of magnetic switching distribution in common use for magnetic recording media. These two parameters are closely related, and this relationship has been determined for a family of experimental recording tapes. In addition, the importance of magnetic switching distribution to peak output at 787 bits/mm is shown for tapes encompassing a wide range of coercive force (Hc) and retentivity (4πMr).Keywords
