Abstract

If it is required that matrix elements of the $\mathrm{SU}\left(3\right)\mathrm{}\times \mathrm{SU}\left(3\right)\mathrm{}$ symmetry-violating operator in the Hamiltonian be gently varying, and that the limits of chiral symmetry and/or scale invariance be smoothly attainable, then scale invariance must be broken in the chiral-symmetry limit.
