Abstract
Paper chromatographic analysis of alcohol extracts of various developmental stages of Rana pipiens, up to stage 21 of Shumway, demonstrated no free amino acids, although acid hydrolysis with HC1 gave rise to amino acids indicating presence of peptides. The demonstrated ability of adult frog tissues to accumulate high concn. of free intracellular amino acids must appear late in development. Keywords
