Abstract
The Sugawara-Suzuki treatment of nonleptonic hyperon decays is extended to include the weak ΔS=0 parity-violating BBπ vertex, where B is a member of the baryon octet. This vertex gives rise to parity-violating effects in strong and electromagnetic interactions of hypernuclei. It is shown that analogs of the Lee-Sugawara relation may be derived which relate the various ΔS=0 amplitudes to one another and to the ΔS=1 S-wave amplitudes. These relations are used to calculate the one-pion-exchange contribution to the parity-violating internucleon potential.
