Metal Complexes of Biologically Important Ligands, LV Binding of Steroidal Hormones through α-Amino Acid Ligands to Platinum(II) and Palladium(II)

Abstract

3-(2-Aminoethoxy)estrone, 3-(2-aminoethoxy)estradiol, 17 α-aminomethylestradiol and 3-ol-17-aminoestrane react with coordinated activated amino acid ligands of platinum(II) and palladium(II) complexes to give cis- and trans-Cl₂Pt(GlyNHR)₂, Cl₂Pt[(Gly)„NHR]₂ and Cl₂Pd(HisNHR) (R = steroid, n = 1-3). Similarly estrone, prednisolone, prednisone and testosterone have been bound in α-amino acid ester complexes cis-Cl₂Pt(GlyOR)GlyOH, trans-Cl₂Pt(GlyOR)₂ and Cl₂Pd(HisOR) (R = steroid).
